In 2020, 250 dogs were rescued from the horrors of the Incheon Gyeyang Mountain dog meat farm, becoming the world’s first Nureongi (meaning “yellow dogs,” the term used for dogs bred for meat in Korea) Sanctuary—ARK Shelter. While the recent ban on dog meat in South Korea marks a major victory, the reality is that shelters like ARK continue working tirelessly to provide lifelong care for the survivors.
These dogs are no longer scared or starving. They have learned what love feels like, and they are ready to show you that a dog born on a meat farm is no different from your own beloved pet.
Winter has already arrived in Korea, bringing freezing temperatures. Today, ARK continues to care for approximately 120 resilient dogs and is working to ensure they remain warm and comfortable throughout the cold months. We are fundraising for insulated kennels, dependable heating systems, and warm bedding so these dogs can experience safety and comfort during winter—for the very first time.
You can help give them the second chance they deserve.
If adoption isn’t possible, please consider making a donation today. Your support provides warmth, critical veterinary care, and the ongoing care these dogs rely on. Thank you!
