Boycott FIFA World Cup USA to resist imperialism

The Issue

During the apartheid era, I lived under a system of racial oppression, where we endured harsh sanctions and boycotts from the international community that stood firmly against such an unjust regime. These boycotts were a profound call for justice and greatly contributed to the eventual dismantling of apartheid. It is with this same sense of justice and solidarity that I implore you to take action today against an equally pressing issue: the unchecked imperialism of the United States.

The USA has engaged in unilateral military actions, often with devastating impacts. Historical events such as the invasions of Vietnam and Iraq have resulted in the loss of over two million lives and the destabilization of entire regions. This legacy of aggression continues and extends towards countries like Iran and supporters such as Cuba, countries that have shown solidarity with struggles across the global south.

Sports boycotts have precedent as a powerful tool of protest. Just as we pursued a case against Israel at the International Court of Justice—a move that saw the collaboration of dozens of nations—we can use this strategy to oppose the imperial excesses of the USA. By boycotting the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the USA, we can make a clear, unified statement against these aggressive actions.

I urge fellow nations and their sports organizations to publicly declare their refusal to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup as long as the United States continues its pattern of international aggression and lack of accountability. Let us send a strong message that the global community does not condone imperialistic ventures that result in human suffering and violate international law.

Join us in making a difference. Sign this petition to support the boycott of the FIFA World Cup in the USA and resist the forces of imperialism that exploits and harms many nations. Together, we can stand in solidarity for a more just and peaceful world.
