Boycott Coles and Woolworths on 23 & 24 December 2023

The issue

We, the undersigned, come together to express our deep concerns regarding the price gouging practices of Coles and Woolworths during a time when the cost of living is at an all-time high. We strongly believe that by boycotting these major supermarket chains on the 23rd and 24th of December, 2023, we can send a powerful message and demand fair pricing that reflects the financial struggles faced by many Australians.

Our reasons for this boycott are as follows:

 1. Affordability and Cost of Living: The cost of living in Australia has been steadily increasing, placing significant financial strain on individuals and families. We believe that Coles and Woolworths, as major players in the retail industry, have a responsibility to ensure that their prices are fair and affordable for all Australians. By boycotting these supermarkets, we aim to encourage them to reevaluate their pricing strategies and make essential items more accessible to those struggling to make ends meet.

2. Support for Vulnerable Australians: Many Australians are facing financial hardship, particularly during the holiday season. It is crucial that we stand together as a community and support those in need. By boycotting Coles and Woolworths, we can redirect our shopping to alternative retailers who offer more affordable options, and in doing so, help alleviate the financial burden faced by many Australians.

3. Promoting Competition and Fairness: The dominance of Coles and Woolworths in the retail industry has limited competition and reduced consumer choice. By boycotting these supermarkets, we aim to encourage a more competitive market, where fair pricing and consumer value are prioritized. This will not only benefit consumers but also foster a healthier and more diverse retail landscape.

We understand that the convenience of shopping at Coles and Woolworths during the holiday season may be tempting. However, we believe that by uniting and making a collective effort, we can bring about positive change that benefits all Australians.

We urge all Australians who share our concerns to join us in boycotting Coles and Woolworths on December 23rd and 24th, 2023. Together, we can send a strong message to these supermarket chains, demanding fair pricing and supporting those who are struggling to make ends meet.
