The Issue

On July 17, 2025, CBS announced it will cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert—despite it being the most-watched and one of the most profitable late-night programs. This announcement followed just days after Paramount settled with Trump for $16 million—what Colbert aptly called a “big, fat bribe.” Their decision is profoundly disturbing and poses a threat to our democracy. We can hold CBS and Paramount accountable by boycotting them. They chose money over morality. We don’t need them—they need us.

I want to be clear: I don’t expect CBS or Paramount to reverse their decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This petition was created to show solidarity—with Colbert and with everyone who’s tired of watching powerful corporations put profit, politics, and fear ahead of people, principles, and democracy. CBS and Paramount made their choice. Now we make ours. By signing this petition and committing to a boycott, we are sending a message: we won’t fund companies that silence voices simply because they challenge power. This isn't just about one show. It's about standing up to a media system that increasingly serves the interests of the mega-wealthy while ignoring the majority of Americans. Let’s keep pushing back—with our attention, our viewership, and our voices.
