After the recent events involving Barneys New York and 19 year old Trayon Christian, we believe that relationship between Jay Z and Barneys should be severed. Although we clearly can't take any legal action against the deal, this petition is to simply list all those who will not be shopping at Barneys New York or any Barneys for that matter. Racial profile is unacceptable on all levels and Barneys has sent the message loud and clear. SWB (shopping while black) is unacceptable and apparently illegal in their store!

  Jay Z if you'd like us to purchase your holiday collection, please partner up with another department store. I have always been a fan, however I will not shop at a place where I am not welcome. The reality is they wouldn't welcome you either if you didn't have the status you do. Whether you can afford the goods it's irrelevant. If your skin is brown, you're beneath them.   Good luck Barneys!

Jay Z is now claiming to be the victim saying he is being "demonized" for not pulling his partnership with Barneys. No one is demonizing you Mr. Carter. People are simply expressing the fact that they feel your priorities are not in order. Being a black male who has more than likely been racially profiled at some point in your life, you should understand that what these young people have gone through in unacceptable. You're waiting for the "facts", but what more do you want? The police did not deny arresting a young black man because they didn't believe he couldn't afford the item he LEGALLY purchased, nor did the store deny that arrest took place. You may not be profiting over this partnership as far as money going into your pocket but you profit as far as publicity goes and we all know that goes a long way. There are countless other ways to raise money for your organization. Many different ways that we would all support. THIS is not one of them. Save the pity party for an appropriate occasion. This isn't it.
