This camp has been open for nearly 100 years. It is a local camp for our kids and future scouts and they are shutting it down and taking it away from us. 

When the Michigan Crossroads Council was formed they were overseeing 16 camps in Michigan.

In 2014 when the Michigan Crossroads Council presented a strategic plan for camps they were going to focus on 8 camps for summer camp programs. 4 others would remain available for camping with no summer camp and 4 would be closed.

Now in 2020 they will only be operating 5 camps for summer camp operations and closing Rota-Kiwan for all camping. No summer camp, no weekend camping, just closing it down!!

The MCC has not been acting in the best interest of our scouts, our local units, or in the long term success of the scouting program. We need to stand up and show them that this is not ok! We will stand up for our camp!

Please help me show them that there is interest in providing a local camp. Give us the opportunity to save it! This petition will show them that there is interest in saving the camp and hopefully bring them to the table to find a way to save this camp rather than close it and sell it!

We need to show them that we will not take this lightly and we support our local scouts, units, and their opportunities to utilize this property!
