Thank you so much to author Diana Honour for your coverage of the efforts of young women to urge the Boy Scout leadership end the BSA "No Girls Allowed" policy and allow young women to become members of Troops. Please read Diana's article below. BSA National Chair Turley, there is no legitimate reason to wait 478 days, after announcing last October 11th that girls can join the Boy Scouts, to end gender discrimination in Scouting and allow girls to form and join Troops.
If you agree, please send the below email to our Scout leaders, or better yet, send one of your own telling your story of why girls should be members of Troops - NOW. The Boy Scouts has produced many of our national leaders and the organization should welcome all children. Thank you for all your support.

Dear National Chair Jim Turley and the Scout Leadership:
I’m writing to thank the Boy Scouts for agreeing to accept girls into the organization. I am so glad that young women will be able to earn the same recognition young men could always achieve.
As you know from your work leading the women’s group Catalyst, Inc., as our society continues to move closer and closer to gender equality, we know how crucial it is that girls be given access to the incredible leadership training provided by your organization, the Boy Scouts.
But I’m concerned that the young women who pushed so hard for this change are now being excluded from the organization. I am asking that you immediately welcome Sydney Ireland as a full member in her Troop and count the work she has completed towards earning the Eagle Rank.
As you should be well aware, with the BSA’s plan to accept young women in February 2019, many of them will not be able to complete their Eagle Scout projects in time for it to count on their college applications, denying them access to key scholarships and a leg up in the application process. I am specifically concerned about the young woman who began the movement to increase membership and gender equality in the Boy Scouts, Sydney Ireland.
There is no good reason to delay accepting girls into the program and counting the work they have completed. Please set a good example for the future men you are already training, and allow girls to become Scouts today.
Thank you for your consideration in welcoming all children to your historic organization. Kindly confirm that you have received this email.
Yours in Scouting, [Your Name]
