Please support this petition to remove our city manager from his position.   He was hired without the educational requirements for the position of city manager and does not have the qualifications to serve as city manager for the City of Bowie. Our city manger started his reign by claiming the planning and zoning board was unethical. He convinced the past Mayor to call for the removal of each board member and then attempted to bring criminal charges against the members. This man has eliminated most all employees with any length of service in ways that could be construed as unethical and self-serving. He has replaced the past city auditors with a firm he worked with from the last city he was employed. He may have hired a past employee, from his previous city, to oversee public works after removing most department heads. The city infrastructure is in a state of decline. He has encircled himself with department heads who are considered to go along with everything he says or fear termination. His biggest lack of concern and leadership comes from his strong desire to build a new city complex. He has managed to spend tax money on various tracts of land for this purpose. He has managed to spend tax money on cost analysis for the facility. He has managed to attempt a sale of some of the property because he apparently did not like the location. Now he has made a push to remove City Hall from downtown and place it at the edge of the city limits on Highway 287 and FM 1125. He is doing all this while we have lost our hospital, while a large number of people are without jobs, and while property and sales taxes are on a decline. We need someone in this position who is fiscally responsible and actually cares about our city and its future. We also need a person that is concerned about our citizens and values their input. We ask that you be a resident of the City of Bowie or pay City taxes when signing this petition.
