The only way to preserve Africa’s last remaining elephant populations is to engage with the communities that live closest to them.

These communities could provide vital information with regard to the protection of all wildlife from poachers.

The communities need to financially benefit from ecotourism.  There are many very successful ecotourist operations in Africa which are managed entirely by local communities.

Enjoying Africa’s wildlife in all its natural splendor should be a past time that is affordable to all people and not just a select few.

Trophy hunting benefits very few individuals, killing elephants, lions or rhinos provides no conservation benefits to the species.

Opening corridors for the elephants to move freely without fear of poaching, as nature intended is the only lasting solution to elephant over population in Botswana.

GMFER is opposed to trophy hunting and we are opposed to the unbanning of the ivory trade. We need to move forward and not backwards.
