End Discrimination in BU Student Government
This petition had 49 supporters
Recently members of BU Student Government have shown systemic racism against BU’s Jewish population. It is the stance of the current E-Board to disenfranchise student voices due to their own political agenda. Any individual who disagrees with their politics is either shunned or ridiculed. While every student is entitled to their own opinions, there is a difference between having a view and actively discriminating. We are calling for justice and asking the VP of Finance to resign from her Executive Board position immediately. She has expressed discriminatory views while accusing Israel of “systematic state violence.”
The E-board created a hostile work environment for the only Jewish cabinet member, holding the majority of their meetings on Jewish Holidays. They threatened to take away the 3 senate seats of BU Hillel, silencing the voices of thousands of students. Student Government should not be a place of discriminatory politics, but be as inclusive as possible. The True BU slate ran a campaign on fighting for all students, yet have taken actions at the expense of so many. No single group of students should be targeted, regardless if you are Pro-Israel or Pro-Palestine. We are Terriers against discrimination.
