Petition for Boston College to honor the class of 2020 with a Commencement Ceremony

The Issue

On September 1, 2020, Boston College communicated with the class of 2020 that the commencement ceremony (which had been moved from May to October) had been officially canceled and replaced with a tentative “1 year reunion” to be held in June of 2021. This is upsetting to many of the members of the class of 2020 who had their senior year abruptly cut short in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This petition aims to motivate the Boston College administration to honor the class of 2020 with a commencement ceremony so that their families and friends can celebrate their achievements. The class of 2020 deserves to walk down Linden Lane one last time and officially close their time at BC.
