Dog Parks in Forgotten Boston Neighborhoods

Dog Parks in Forgotten Boston Neighborhoods
The Issue
To all Boston residents in Hyde Park, Mattapan, Roslindale, West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain and the rest of the city who supports us:
We have been forgotten about in the city when it comes to a safe place we can bring our dogs to exercise, play and socialize. Other neighborhoods in the city have this opportunity but for years we have been trying and efforts have failed. Dog parks are such valuable and important additions to a neighborhood for so many reasons. It appears that there are more dogs now than ever before due to the pandemic and it’s such a great thing to see so many new dog owners out walking their dogs in the neighborhood. I live in Hyde Park and have spent a lot of time talking to neighbors, expressing our frustration due to a lack of space for our dogs to exercise & socialize off leash. People want to spend more time outdoors and they want to spend time with their dogs. People want the same access that has been given to other neighborhoods in the city. Please show your support by signing our petition!
There is currently a hearing scheduled for April 21st that was requested by City Councilor Arroyo. He’s someone who understands our need and has made this effort a priority. Now we just need the community’s help in any way you can. Spread the word, attend the virtual hearing, write a testimonial, send emails to your city councilor/state reps, make your voice heard. Plenty of people in the city support us. Let’s make this a reality!
