World Class Dog Park in Seaport, Boston

The Issue

The South Boston Waterfront (Seaport) has undergone massive change and investment in business and residential living.  As a result, there are thousands of dogs (big and small) with no off-leash space in the neighborhood like there is in the North End, South Boston, and other neighborhoods.

We want to solve this problem by building a first class dog park at the corner of Autumn Ln and Boston Wharf Road, which today is a large grass area (un-fenced) used by well behaved dogs that continuously tear up the grass as an "impromptu" dog park.  This space is largely unusable by the general public, and is a perfect site for a proper dog park.

Our goal is to make this a first class dog park, with a fenced in area that includes staging areas at two entrances, and plenty of amenities (poop bags, waste containers, water station, and obstacle course), providing a safe and enjoyable area for dogs and owners alike.

There exists a very small dog area at the corner of Stillings Street which is ideal for small dogs.  This proposal offers an abutting dog park for medium to large dogs, providing space for ALL dog owners in the neighborhood.

There is tremendous support for this idea among high income tax payers, and the site does not infringe on resident or business interests.
