Boston Athletic Association (BAA) has announced that the 2022 Boston Marathon will require medical treatment in order to participate in the race. BAA did not require medical treatment in order to participate in the 2021 edition of the race in October 2021. BAA will attempt to justify this by stating the difference of field size (20k to 30k). However, other organizations in the Boston Area have allowed groups of over 30k without these mandates including the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Events that have people much more densely packed then a Marathon. BAA can also not point to a single death that was a result of their 20k person race that did not have these heinous requirements. The Boston Marathon's goal is to host a race, and no law exists that they cannot do this without this rule. The Boston Marathon should not be making health requirements for people. Regardless your views of the vaccine itself, it is clear that these mandates are not right and should not be the type of society freedom loving Americans can accept living in.
