Yesterday, the High Court ruled that a company linked to Michelle Mone must repay £122 million to the Government after supplying faulty PPE during the pandemic.
The gowns were unsafe and never used. These contracts were awarded through the Government’s VIP lane, after Mone used her position to lobby ministers and officials. While NHS staff were risking their lives, insiders were cashing in.
Despite this, Michelle Mone still holds a peerage and a seat in the House of Lords. That is indefensible.
This is about accountability. Those who profited while lives were on the line should not be rewarded with lifelong positions in Parliament.
