Yesterday, the Covid Inquiry revealed shocking WhatsApp messages, in which the current Chief Scientific Advisor, Angela McLean (then Chief Scientific Advisor to Ministry of Defence) refers to Rishi Sunak as "Dr Death”, over his disastrous ‘Eat out to Help Out’ scheme. 

In amongst all of the shocking evidence that the inquiry has revealed so far, the evidence regarding Eat out to Help Out is some of the most appalling.

This inquiry has revealed that there was absolutely no consultation with the Government’s scientific advisors on Eat Out to Help Out, that it contributed to the loss of thousands of lives, put unnecessary pressure on the NHS and plunged the country into a brutal second lockdown.

It’s clear that if it wasn’t for Rishi Sunak’s reckless, unscientific and callous approach, many of us might still have our loved ones with us today. 

When our current Chief Scientific Advisor has referred to our Prime Minister as “Dr Death”, how can any of us have faith in our Government if another pandemic strikes?
