Covid-19 Bereaved Families for JusticeUnited Kingdom

The truth is going to come out about Johnson and Sunak. On the first day of the Covid Inquiry this Tuesday we heard a list of failures from the pair of them as horrific as it was jaw dropping.

The revelations so far, from Boris Johnson calling long covid ‘bollocks’ in 2020, to Patrick Vallance’s diary entries showing how No 10 advisors rewrote scientific advice throughout the pandemic, to Rishi Sunak rejecting medical advice to pay people forced to self isolate, are damning.

Much, much more will come out in the coming weeks, and we need your support to ensure that bereaved families are heard every step of the way, and that the likes of Johnson, Sunak and Hancock are never let off the hook.

Already they are trying to spin their way through the Inquiry. Boris Johnson has claimed we “didn’t do too badly”. What an absolute disgrace. The 230,000 families bereaved by Covid 19 prove this to be untrue, and we will do everything we can to make sure that the experiences of bereaved families are learnt from so that the same mistakes are never made again.

This week that meant bringing our voices both inside and outside the courtroom. Jo Goodman (our co-founder) and Catriona Myles from our Northern Ireland Branch spoke incredibly powerful and eloquently about the loss of their fathers, why their deaths were not inevitable, and why it is so important that stories like their’s are learnt from. They did all of us incredibly proud.

Outside the courtroom, we made sure that the Inquiry could not ignore us. Bereaved families travelled across the country to be there in person, holding pictures of their loved ones and banner to show the Inquiry that the bereaved won’t be silenced.

We will never stop fighting for our loved ones voices to be heard. If you’re able to, please support us to help make sure we’re doing everything we can to get justice on their behalf.
