Install a new pedestrian crossing on Brixton Road

Install a new pedestrian crossing on Brixton Road
The Issue
We are calling for the Mayor of London and transport for London to recognise the need for a new pedestrian crossing on Brixton Road near Mostyn Road.
There is currently a big distance between the pedestrian crossings on Brixton Road which does not take into account the recent increase in the number of residents in the area from the Myatt’s Field North/Oval Quarter development. There are a number of existing and new residents with mobility issues and those with young children who now have to travel an unreasonable distance to cross this busy road, which can be dangerous to get across at peak times. There is a pressing and immediate justification for a new crossing in this area.
Local Vassall councillors – Jacqui Dyer, Paul Gadsby and Annie Gallop – and Assembly Member Val Shawcross are calling for the Mayor and Transport for London to review the situation to provide a safe crossing on the road as soon as possible.
