Too much devastation has already happened to our planet. The forests are vital not only for the wildlife to thrive and survive but because forests absorb the deadly carbon dioxide gasses that are currently destroying our planet. If we continue to let rain forests be destroyed, there will be no trees to absorb these gasses and the earth will continue to get hotter, causing climate change. This could have catastrophic circumstances. Not only will animals become extinct, the weather will become more severe, potentially causing more hurricanes, storms and forest fires, this will threaten humanity and kill more animals than ever before.

There are projects going on in certain parts of the world to try and plant new forests, but more needs to be done. If we don't start respecting the planet, we will all lose one day. With the planet getting hotter, climate change is speeding up at an alarming rate. Droughts are becoming more severe, killing animals, particularly elephants in Zimbabwe Africa. Reporting 200 dying due to droughts. They need a huge amount of daily water source to survive and with the climate getting hotter there are more droughts happening than ever before.The drought parching southern Africa is also affecting people. An estimated 11 million people are threatened with hunger in nine countries in the region, according to the World Food Program, which is planning large-scale food distribution. The countries of southern Africa have experienced normal rainfall in only one of the past five growing seasons. Scientists have warned that if we don't act now then devastating consequences will happen.

The report warns that of climate-induced mass migrations, more pandemics and conflicts over resources will be inevitable unless urgent action is taken.

“Ours is not a call to surrender – we aim to provide leaders with a realistic ‘cold shower’ of the state of the planet that is essential for planning to avoid a ghastly future,” it adds. 

We need to stop the use of fossil fuels that are damaging our planet, stop fishermen over fishing in our oceans so the marine life can survive. Coral reefs are threatened with the ocean temperatures getting hotter, due to climate change. If these continue to change then the oxygen that the ocean provides for us all, will rapidly decline as more coral reefs will continue to die. We need to realise that this is serious!! people need to start realising what is at stake here. Sir David Attenborough has released a series on BBC called "Protect Our Planet" urging people to take notice. It's not the animals that are destroying our planet it's humanity. It needs to change, before it's too late to reverse the damage that has already began.
