Nurses Together Say: Help Us Fight This Crisis

As Nurses, we came into this job because we believe in making a difference. There is nothing more important to us than looking after your loved ones and making sure that we are there for you when you need us. Together, as healthcare staff, we have been supporting each other as best as we can to tackle this disease but we need your help.

Covid-19 has shown how your health depends upon our hospitals and GPs but also something as simple as whether your Nurses can get to work or have the equipment and training to keep on fighting this disease.

That’s why as Nurses United we are making 3 demands of this Government:

  1. Training for any staff who are going to be redeployed due to Covid-19 to keep Nurses and their patients safe.
Some Nurses haven’t worked in hospitals for over 30 years and we have a massive shortage of Critical Care Nurses.
  2. A mental health hotline for NHS staff during this crisis.
To protect our mental health and wellbeing to keep us working for you.
  3. No tax for NHS Staff who are working extra shifts and free travel & parking at our place of work.
Our NHS Staff shouldn’t be penalised for trying to fill vacancies during this pandemic.
Travelling to work is becoming more difficult as train and bus routes reduce. We shouldn’t be stopped from helping people during the crisis.

Nurses are the lifeblood of the NHS and we are committed to making sure that we are there on the frontlines of this epidemic. The problems that put us in this critical situation didn’t start overnight and we know that once we’re out of this that the Government needs to do more to prepare the NHS for the future. But right now we need you to stand with us to protect your family and your Nurses.
