Too many Britons are dying from Covid because of the incompetence of Boris Johnson and his hypocritical colleagues. They tell law-abiding Brits to stay home for the safety of others - yet themselves drive miles to test their eyesight, take bike rides seven miles from their own home or head to crowded public parks without proper precautions.

Britain has one of the worst records in the world for dealing with Covid - yet for more than nine months this government has treated us with contempt and an endless series of lies, misinformation and blunders. It is time this government stands aside before their ineptitude causes even more unnecessary deaths and pain.

As the USA rids itself of so-called 'populist' president Donald Trump, whose denial of the pandemic has already lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths, it is time Britain's increasingly unpopular 'populist' leader also resigns. That Johnson should depend on the very NHS whose funding he lied about to help win the Brexit vote is despairingly ironic.
