El problema

Should we want to reunite with family living abroad or just go on holiday to European countries, we have to pay for private tests and they are compulsory requirements. This is an extra charge, most of the time, higher than the flight tickets themselves.

If NHS Lateral Flow Tests are valid for working and going to school purposes then why aren't they valid for travelling? It is safe to go to these places but not for going abroad; are they safe and reliable or not? It makes no sense to me.

1. Travelling from UK: If you have been fully vaccinated, you are probably good to get on a plane without further tests but this depends on the destination. However, teenagers must have their tests done and there is no alternative as COVID vaccines are not open for them.

2. Travelling to UK: fully vaccinated and people from the same household won't have to quarantine on the return. Good. However, UK requires two private tests for everyone: one up to three days before takeoff and the other up to two days upon landing.

Prices vary between companies and there is a list of valid ones too.

If this is the way to bring back the economy I completely disagree.

Let's make NHS Lateral Flow Tests valid for travelling in and out of the country and keep using them while abroad twice a week (always if asymptomatic).

Help us move in a safely way without the compulsory requirements you have set upon returning back home.

Thank you very much in advance for your altruistic support.

Kind regards, Zaida.

P.S. I want to attend with my family to my sister's wedding in Spain, where she lives, and relax on the beautiful Spanish beaches.
