Statues across our country are being removed without consultation with all of the people to appease a few.  This needs to stop immediately as it is a part of our history. 

We can not judge people from centuries or even decades ago by today's moral standards, we can however learn from them.  We also need to remember that almost all nations and races dealt in the slave trade at some point in history. 

If we don't stop this now then where next?  Do we remove all history books with reference to these people?  Do we change all street names etc and if so who pays for this?

Whilst some statues may be mildly offensive to some they may also invoke strong feelings of pride, nationalism and heritage for others.  We can not just remove them the appease the few.

PLEASE save our statues and criminally charge those who would deface them.
