Level up the playing field with Scotland for our A level students.

Level up the playing field with Scotland for our A level students.
The Issue
At present a Scottish student predicted grades by their teacher will be going to the University of their choice. A similar student in the England and Wales will possibly not be going to the University of their choice.
This is unfair, unequal and unjust as well as discriminating against English and Welsh students.
I call on the Government to follow what has happened in Scotland by giving students the grades that their teachers have predicted, rather than the 'triple lock' of a resit, statistical grade or their mocks.
Mock exams are not fit for purpose, as they are not consistent, not all students do them for a variety of reasons and past papers have been found on the internet that give some students an unfair advantage. Also teachers often raise grade boundaries in order to not let students become complacent.
Our students are individuals and not statistics and the people who best know their chances of getting a grade are their teachers.
