Label meat products appropriately!

The Issue

Meat has been proven time and time again to be a "Group-one" carcinogen. Which is the same as smoking cigarettes.

I am asking for help to give the public the information they deserve as I believe people are not being kept up-to-date with new research into the food that we eat. I believe half as many people would eat meat if they were fully informed of the side effects.

I am asking for labels, similar to those found on cigarette packets, to be put on meat products which clearly state the risk of cancer that comes when eating these products. Nothing large (or too preachy). Just a small black sticker on the corner of the product which states:

"This product is a group-one carcinogen, known to cause cancer."

I understand that I have an unpopular opinion but I am not trying to do this to upset/aggrivate anyone who eats meat. I just want people to be informed to make their own decisions.

And I do not think that it is fair that our Government will label cigarettes as cancerous but they will not do the same for meat just because they all have their hands in the pockets of the meat industry.

I have had enough of this preventable, unnecessary death in families like mine across the country.

Here are some articles showing the risk of cancer that comes from eating meat:

Genkinger JM, Koushik A (2007) Meat Consumption and Cancer Risk. PLoS Med 4(12): e345. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pmed.0040345

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/apr/17/even-moderate-intake-of-red-meat-raises-cancer-risk-study-finds

These are in no way the only studies that can be found but I picked these as they are easy to read (and because they are not Vegan propaganda!)

I hope there are some people out there like me who want the people of Britain to be informed on what they are putting inside of their bodies.

Thank you for reading :)
