The Issue

We are a small British manufacturer with ventilators in stock and is unable to sell or donate them to countries in need due to "Red Tape". The MHRA, the Medical Regulators of our country, do not have a pathway for companies like this to apply for emergency regulatory approval for COVID-19 and instead recommend  the usual route of 2+ years.

Please sign this petition to amend Regulation 12(5) of the Medical Devises Regulations 2002, to include all countries globally in their distinction of "exceptional use for ventilators". Currently the regulation only applies to the UK, so that if the UK does not require emergency use of ventilators then the regulation does not apply and companies cannot apply for emergency approval.

People are dying globally we there are ventilators sitting in a warehouse in the UK that cannot be exported without the correct clearance. Do NOT allow this to happen. Help us help these countries and help UK Manufacturing and jobs in the process.
