My Grandmother, who lived to over 100, always used to say "without your health you have nothing". The current COVID-19 situation has brought this message home loud and clear. 

It has also shown how important and valuable our key workers across the NHS and social care are, and how they are putting their health and wellbeing on the line to help the rest of us. They do this on a daily basis, not just during COVID-19.

Isn't it about time that we as a society finally show these people how much we care about them and how much we respect what they do? Isn't it about time that they had better pay and rewards that reflects the risks they take and the value they add to our communities?

Please join me in asking the UK Government to get creative and innovative to look at new ways to improve pay and rewards, so that these key workers know we value, respect and recognise the great work they do.
