Rebecca Rodgers started this petition to Boris Johnson (Prime Minister) and

So I have started this petition as during this coronavirus prisoners locked up are being held for 23 hours+ a day, sometimes even 40+ hours before there let out, there allowed limited time out of there cells to collect food, order medication, make phone calls, take a shower and other essentials that need doing even in a jail, now I know it’s the best way to contain the virus but it’s also not fair on families outside the prison walls who have had there visits cancelled, phone calls cut dramatically, Mail not arriving after a week of being sent! How in any way is this ok? In prison or not you cannot let the family on the outside suffer because of it. Fair enough visits have been cancelled and held back but ATLEAST let the prisoners live like humans and not animals.
Each prisoner should be issued some extra credit to make sure there able to contact families, Skype calls put into place, even if families have to pay for them (I’m 99% sure most would) and to be let out of there cells for ATLEAST 60 mins-120 mins a day even if that’s split so it’s half in the morning and half in the afternoon and ALL prison guards and staff should be supplied with saftey gear just like the NHS have been aswell it’s only fair, especially when some prisons have cases of the coronavirus.

There mental well-being matters aswell as ours also! Criminals or not.

I really hope I can count on your signature to get these prisoners human rights back in place .

Thank you.
