We need many more. The Second Reading of the Domestic Abuse Bill went through recently, with Philip Davies MP tabling some urgent amendments for which he has disgracefully been accused of 'wrecking amendments' by Dianne Abbot and the unelected Baroness Hussein-Ece.

His amendments included:

1. Recognising the aberrant parenting behaviours of 'parental alienation' which suppress and ultimately sever a child's innate attachment bond with a safe parent while simultaneously brutalising their target parent (victim) as a form of domestic abuse. We have listed here how these abusive behaviours exactly mirror those defined by Womens Aid.

2. Charging those who make false allegations in order to eradicate a safe parent from a child's life, with abuse. There has to be accountability for wrecking lives, careers, reputations and, most especially, the irreplaceable relationship every loving parent has with their own child.

3. To recognise ALL victims of domestic abuse - to include the not insubstantial 785,000 male victims. Male victims three times less likely to report. Male victims who have no refuges to go to.

We live in a country governed by equality laws. It is incomprehensible that any organisations should demand equality when it suits yet be unwilling to support and promote equality when it comes to protecting all victims of abuse.

The UK Statistics Authority upheld complaints in 2009 and 2019 over the misleading use of the phrase 'overwhelming majority' when referring to the proportion of female victims of domestic abuse.

The statement is false. As is the 'research' which states that parental alienation is only a 'tool for abusive fathers'. It's nonsense.
