Captain Tom Moore has, in his lifetime served his country with great pride and courage. As he has approached his 100th Birthday he set himself a target to walk 1 length of his garden ( approx 25m ) for each of his years. In return for this he asked for us to make a small donation so he could raise £1000 for the NHS.

Being a Yorkshire lad, Captain Tom has true grit and determination. With this not only has he managed to complete his target of 100 lengths 14 days early he has smashed his goal by a whopping 2255% to raise an outstanding £12,488,657.64 to date.

To make this even more amazing, if that is even possible, Captain Moore has said that while ever people continue to donate he will continue to walk the length of his garden. This proves that not all heroes wear capes.

Traditionally when a person reaches the age of 100 the Queen arranges to deliver a telegram to commemorate their birthday. I would like Captain Moore to receive not only a telegram but I feel, given his outstanding service to the country and contribution to the NHS, he should be awarded with a knighthood on his Birthday. This may be unappreciated but Captain Tom Moore is a unique inspirational gentleman and I for one salute him.
