Allow polyamorous marriages.

Allow polyamorous marriages.

When it comes to marriage the law states that nobody can be married to more than one spouse at the same time. With polyamory (engaging in multiple relationships, with the consent of all the people involved) this means that someone could be dating/be married to a person and have 2 other partners that they are dating. While some people feel that polyamory is wrong, what we need to remember is that the LGBTQ+ community has faced (and still faces to this day) people calling them wrong or unnatural and most people would argue that trying to stop people of the same sex marrying is wrong in itself. Why should we not give the same rights and privileges to the poly community that we give to non-polyamorous people?
Just imagine that you are in love, someone that makes you extremely happy, and you decide that this is somebody you would like to marry. You go to marry them or openly state how much you would like them to become your partner but suddenly multiple people tell you how wrong it would be to marry them and the government/law tells you that you aren't allowed to marry the person you care for so much. This is what some polyamorous people face. They find someone, fall in love and marry. Then whilst in that marriage, they fall in love with another person (whilst still loving their spouse) and with the consent of their spouse start dating them. If they then decide they would like to marry they are met with a 'no'. Nobody should be restricted from marrying the who they love and that's what I would like to change. To do that we need to get this to the Prime Minister/Government so they can change this.
