Extract from British Swimming Mission Statement Effective 1st March 2015 "Every swimmer must have the opportunity to swim in appropriate,quality competition to enable them to achieve their true potential" This is the mission statement that supports the purpose of Meet Licensing and these Criteria have been developed to provide clubs and competition providers with common ground roles for the conduct and delivery of such position. Ends This clearly was added in March 2015 so why not adhere to it and apply it. This is not a 'Gala' but the Olympic trials. Lewis who recently broke Mark Foster's Essex County records in the 50 Freestyle which Mark Foster tweeted is ranked 3rd in the Country for the short course event and this meet is also a qualifier for selection for the GB squad. Tomorrow is another day to hope that someone will surface and be proud enough to reverse this decision.
