"I have no power" CEO British swimming David Sparks OBE

After being passed through many senior executives over the last 2 days, contact was eventually made by David Sparks giving his sympathies to Lewis and apparently to the other qualified swimmers that had their entries rejected due to late admin error for the Olympic trials. He quoted"I have no power to intervene" he added "British swimming has a clear demarkation between executive matters and judicial matters" and he could not intervene. When a CEO has no power over his organisation is very worrying. The performance element(coaching) of BS appear very understanding and supportive but the judicial element is run by mostly volunteers that are non employed implementing the terms and conditions of the competition. It appears there is no one spokesman that will address this. On a positive note, Lewis is continuing his taper in training in Naples and his returning to his home in Romford this Friday. He is still hoping there will be a reversal of the decision even if it last minute he will be ready and totally motivated to perform his best. He thanks everyone for the continued support and as we pass 3000 signed of this genuine error that has created such a penalty for Lewis and apparently a handful of others who are experiencing the same devastation. If anyone is aware of these athletes please get in touch. There is only a week to go to trials so please keep sharing and commenting you are being heard. Mr Sparks has promised a review of the meet conditions post the competition but this is not good enough Lewis and others who have given everything for this opportunity to have the right to participate in the trials. A simple reversal would give much needed credibility to British swimming goodwill. After all no crime or offence has been made but the penalty is too severe as if one had been made.
