I am a resident of Leigh-on-Sea, a wonderful place renowned for its community spirit. However, a glaring issue that impacts our community deeply is the condition and funding status of our local animal shelters. As a responsible pet lover and a dedicated member of our community, I feel it is time to take action and ask for your support in raising funds for our animal shelters.

Neglected and abandoned animals roam our streets, and it's a scene that breaks my heart. Our local shelters are doing their best, but without adequate funding, they struggle to provide the necessary care for these innocent beings. The shelters lack resources for vaccination, sterilisation, feeding and for providing basic comfort for these animals, many of whom have experienced harsh living conditions.

Research data from animal charities in the UK states that over 40,000 animals are abandoned each year, and 1 in 4 dogs and cats are strays that end up in shelters (Source: Renowned UK Animal Charities). The number of stray animals is increasing, and we can't put the blame on the shelter houses. We need to help them.

Our area, Leigh-on-Sea, part of Southend-on-Sea, needs the power of the people to raise funds and help relieve the strain on these shelters. This way we can ensure that every lost and abandoned animal has a fair chance at a new life and a loving home.
