Our children are suffering!  The current situation with our educational system is not working! As Covid cases continue to decrease and surrounding counties have already returned to full, in person instruction, the Boone County Board of Education and Superintendent Matt Turner still believe a Hybrid model with only two in person days is the optimal way for our children to learn. Our virtual days will now go from structured days to mostly recorded and self guided learning.  This is a major disadvantage to our children and their education! These students have been out of the classroom for over six months. The lack of in person instruction is leading to educational set backs. There has been little progress and, in most cases, regression with many students, especially early learners and children with IEP and 504 plans. The vast majority of Boone County Families chose in person school when given the choice.  Our choice has been taken away and the rules keep changing.  It’s time to take a stand for our children! No more excuses!  Let them return to the classroom, full time, five days a week.
