The city of Boone has a proposal from USW Utility Group to take over management of staff and maintaining our Water Treatment and Sewer Plant.  This privatization  will cost the city of Boone an estimated $8,000 more a year.  The City of Boone will still have to pay the bill for all major work that arises at these facilities. The current employees will need to re apply with USW.  They are not guaranteed a job with USW. This will have an impact on these employees and their families. 

Our city employees who work in these facilities take a lot of pride in their work. They work hard for the citizens of Boone. They do an amazing job. 

There does not seem to be a need for a private company to come in and take over when it will cost the city more annually. These facilities are in compliance with DNR regulations. These city employees need our support to stop this private company from coming in. Let's show our city council that the city of Boone does not need this private company to come in and do what our local citizens/employees are already doing a great job at.
