Email your letters to support our amendment AM0021-21 to KEEP BONNER COUNTY RURAL!

Letters are due NOW! Hearing: Thursday, February 17th at 5:30

This amendment will make it almost impossible for a property owner to change their zoning to increase density unless they apply for a family split under code 12-612.
The exception of the rule would be if it’s truly “necessary”,- a flaw in the zoning map or unintended consequence in the code language that can only by rectified with amending the code.
Included in this amendment is language stipuling that higher density zone changes would require evaluation of all county services, adjacent property owners, and the community as a whole. A complete evaluation of cumulative effects of a proposal, including utilities, traffic, and so forth will be required.
This amendment adds language to 12-216 in evaluating these proposed changes, that the staff and government bodies must consider, when increasing residential densities, the public comments, letters, and testimony.
FOLKS this is our key to slowing down this rubber stamping of higher density zone changes.
