A  "off duty" officer shot a Great Dane without a investigation, fellow officers say that the shooting of five rounds were justified. This officer has previosly shot a other dog in it's own back yard too and it too was "justified". ABC channel 10 in San Diego reports that it is "unclear" if the Great Dane that was shot attacked a Chihuahua, and this the justification that the off duty National City officer used for the shooting. As the owner of three Great Danes, a rescue worker of Great Danes, and as a Veterinary Techniciain in the state of California, it is both my personal and professional opinion that there was no physical attack on the Chihuahua in question. If a Great Dane were to bite a Chihuahua there would be tremendous physical damage, perhaps lethal. To say it is "unclear" if the Great Dane attacked the Chihuaha is obtuse, if the Chihauhua was attacked (bit) the dog would have needed immediate medical attention.

Enough is enough of police covering up for one a other, every police shooting deserves a full investigation no matter whom was shot. This shooting deserves a full investigation along with this officer's previous shooting of a pet in their own yard. This is animal cruelty and we must all join to gather to stop animal cruelty and make those responsible accountable by the law.
