Boise State University drop Aramark!!

Boise State University drop Aramark!!
The Issue
While Boise State University looks to be working toward being an inclusive university to all, Boise State partners with Aramark catering as its biggest food supplier. Aramark is one of the largest partners of “correctional facilities” (PRISONS) across the nation as a provider of food, uniforms, and commissary. The prison complex in the US disproportionately affects Black and nonwhite people. Black people are incarcerated at more than 5 times the rate of whites.
We call on Boise State University to cut ties with Aramark and find a new food supplier, one that isn’t deeply involved in the US prison industrial complex. According to the NAACP, the US is home to 5% of the world population, but 21% of the world’s prison population. This must change. Marlene Tromp, please act on this and help Boise State be the university that truly works to improve the lives of Black students in more ways than one. We can all do better, this is tangible. Email president@boisestate.edu to make your voices heard and demand that Boise State University ends its partnership with Aramark. Help us improve the university we grew to love so much. Our Black and nonwhite friends deserve it!!
