Bodywash shouldn't threaten wildlife

The Issue

Hundreds of popular soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, and other products are loaded with dangerous microbeads. Each year, an estimated 19 tons of these tiny, chemical-collecting plastics pollute New York waters damaging the fragile ecosystem and harming wildlife by entering the food chain – even though safe, natural alternatives exist.

Right now, the New York City Council is considering a bill that would ban microbeads from personal care products in New York City. We need to let them know that we're counting on them to protect our waters and wildlife from this completely unnecessary threat.
