South Africa is a nation filled with diversity, in terms of culture, race, religion and languages. It then comes as no surprise that a huge debate ensued on Twitter after Taste Atlas announced that Bobotie was South Africa's national dish! 

In the words of food commentator and author, Errietor Du Toit: “We have a buffet of national dishes, [in fact] we have a table of national dishes. We don’t have a potjie and say that is our national dish. We can romanticise the idea, but we have 11 official languages – how can we have just one dish?”

So sign this petition to get Taste Atlas to revoke Bobotie as South Africa’s national dish!
