Adult patients demand access to ALL legal medical cannabis!

Adult patients demand access to ALL legal medical cannabis!
The Issue
The state of Illinois currently allows adult (18+) medical cannabis card holders full access to ALL medical cannabis products in their dispensaries. In just a few weeks, on July 1, the law will change and those 18-21 will have most of their medication options taken away. They will no longer have access to ALL smokeable products (no flower, no concentrates, no vapes.) They will have access to edibles and oils only. This change is immoral as it forbids access of current legal smokeable products to current legal patients. (For example, many patients have difficulties with their stomachs and can not process edibles to get any effect at all, some have cyclic vomiting and can’t maintain proper dosing because they literally can’t put anything in their mouths or hold it in their stomachs.) We are petitioning for ALL adult Illinois medical card patients (18 and older) to continue to have legal access to ALL medicine in their dispensaries. A new law taking effect July 1 to prevent anyone under 21 from buying tobacco products should not effect the adult Illinois medical program. Every adult card holder paid for full access and should be granted the medicine that they understood that they were going to be able to use when they first registered with IDHP to treat their chronic conditions. All adult Illinois medical card holders should have continued access to ALL medicine from the age of 18 and up, which includes smokeable products. Patients that have successfully been treating their conditions with cannabis should not have their preferred methods taken away. No government body should have the right to make medical decisions about how a patient administers their legal medicine.
Please allow existing adult Illinois medical card holders to continue to have access to ALL medication sold at dispensaries past the new nicotine law that will go into effect on July 1.

*UPDATE FROM STATE REPRESENTATIVE BOB MORGAN*
We still have some time before rule making takes place for the new bill, so it will still be several months until there is a change in age. Starting July 1st only the tobacco age is being changed.. so keep signing and sharing! More time to gain support!
