Dependable, Reliable, affordable High-Speed(100mbps+ up and down) internet should not be a monopoly. We all deserve a choice in our internet provider. Antietam Broadband has had a monopoly on our market for too long, and the citizens of Hagerstown are tired of being fleeced by a corporation that over-charges and clearly doesn't care about its customers. We deserve an internet provider that cares about its customers. 

The recent outages are just further proof that this local company is taking the citizens for all they can. We need an internet company that is competent. Businesses have lost thousands. I put off moving in to a new apartment because the leasing office wasn't answering their phones. This is a joke. 

Antietam Cable doesn't even list their prices on their website. There is no way to know if all customers are getting charged the same, or they make up their prices. After calling, the following Price comparison was made:

This is atrocious. Why is Hagerstown trapped in a monopoly where residents pay for a data capped internet service. The essay from the committee for economic development lists several providers as alternatives. None of these companies offer high speed internet under the new FCC criteria for high speed. They are simply not options. Data costs the provider less then a penny per gigabyte, and we are charged $10 for every 50 we go over. National companies don't even have a cap! For Antietam's fastest service, you can get speeds of at least double, and with Verizon 5 TIMES FASTER for the same price, and NO DATA CAP. 

Hagerstown, its time to listen to your citizens. Why do you have to be rich to live in the 21st century in Washington County!?!?!
