Board of Zoning Appeals, please oppose zoning variance from a residential to business use
The Issue
Last year many of you signed this petition to oppose the owner of 1135 Conner Street seeking to permanently change this historic residence into a commercial property or apartments.
We opposed this proposed zoning change.
Now the owner is applying for a zoning variance, which while it is not a permanent zoning change, it essentially amounts to the same results. If the variance is granted, this home will be converted from a single-family residence to a professional office building, with up to 5 individual offices within the home.
What is at risk? More parking strain, increased alley traffic, pedestrian and child safety, decline of owner-occupied properties, a family friendly atmosphere and neighborly environment, local history, architectural integrity and a livable downtown neighborhood.
The quality of life of adjacent neighbors and the historic integrity of Noblesville as a whole will be negatively impacted if this zoning change passes. We do not want commercial properties encroaching further into our residential neighborhoods.
