Increase funding for treatment and housing facilities like Places for People in St. Louis
The Issue
In the United States, more facilities and services need to be available by increasing funding for Medicare and Medicaid by way of the Organization called Places for People in the City of Saint Louis for homeless individuals that are suffering from drug addiction.
Places for People provides services for approximately 1,600 of their clients each year. Their outreach teams assess and refer another 3,400 to other service providers annually.
65% of their revenue comes from the Missouri Department of Mental Health and Medicaid, making it necessary to call on legislators with power to increase funds allocated to the cause.
Goals: Increase funds for..
- medical services that Places for People provides
- supplies needed for the clinics they are connected to
- hiring of additional specialists, psychiatrists, and nurses in the treatment and rehabilitation centers
