The Monterey County Board of Supervisors will vote on an ordinance revision on March 1st, 2022 that will demand all amplified or "plainly audible" music to stop at 7p.m.. This revision will also increase the citation amounts to $1,000 for first offense, $2,500 for second offense and $5,000 for third offense. This ordinance will affect all of Monterey County. Las Lomas, Royal Oaks, Prunedale, Castroville, Aromas and surrounding areas will all be affected by this new revision. 

Please sign this petition to make our voices heard that we do not approve of this ordinance revision and we DO NOT WANT IT.

We are aware that there is a group on Nextdoor Neighbor that has made it their ultimate goal to stop anyone and everyone from enjoying their lives. They are a militant group that reports parties, even if they are not bothered by them just to have the parties shut down. They are not cognizant nor respectful of everyone's traditions and cultures and that is not okay. 

We truly respect our neighbors and understand that they do not want to be kept up every day, but it is not fair to have to adjust to their wants. This is not a 55+ community! It is not an everyday thing, it is not even an every weekend thing. We understand that Monday-Fridays are off limits, but at least Saturdays should have more relaxed restrictions.

They already managed to change the ordinance from 10p.m. to 9p.m.. Yet they are still unhappy.  When two different parties want opposite things, an agreement must be made that benefits both. However, the agreement they are pushing only benefits them and screws everyone else over. We propose that the ordinance remains at 9p.m. with an opportunity for every address to get at least three permits per fiscal year to have a party past 9p.m..
