Hi everyone good afternoon. I need everyone to please stop what your doing and give me 5-10 minutes of your day / life to do me and my family a huge favor. My uncle Eddie Matos has been locked up for 32 years for a crime he didn’t commit. My uncle has been sentenced to 25-life 32 years ago because he robbed a McDonald’s in Manhattan on October 18,1989, and an officer lost his life trying to follow my uncles escape route up a ladder to the roof. The officer fell unto an air shaft and passed away. My uncle Eddie Matos was charged with his murder, and of course being a poor Hispanic in the 80’s wasn’t going to make his situation any better. My grandmother died trying to get her son out of jail my family has tried for years to the point as his niece I am now trying.My uncle has served more then enough time for robbery and we refuse to let him spend the rest of his life behind bars for a murder he didn’t commit. My uncle has used the time he was given to rehabilitate his self he has gotten his G.E.D completed all of his mandatory programs as well as several voluntary programs. He is currently a co facilitator for Project Build/Exodus Community Reentry Project, who he has been with for 3 years now. He also works for the state shop as a Clark/tailor and anything else they may need him for as has been doing that for the last year and a half.
