LGBT+ topics should be included in sex education. I think that it would be very important to talk about how same-sex couples can have safe sex. In my class, this was not discussed. I would like to ask for your help so the curriculum can be changed. I am aware that State of New Jersey Department of education requires schools to "learn about all kinds of families, including same-sex families" and "by the end of grade eight, students discuss topics about sexual orientation. Issues might include tolerance and sensitivity, harassment and name-calling, stereotyping, and the development of gender identity and its relationship to puberty and adolescence. Similar topics might be addressed in more depth at the secondary level". I think that it should be taken a step further and we should include homosexual people in the discuss of safe sex so they have an equal amount of information about it as straight people. The goal is just so everyone can be safe.
