We, the students, spend 6-7 hours 5 days a week in school just to be handed hours more worth of homework. The school acts like all we have time for is them. Nine times out of ten, they fail to realize the importance of other branches in our lives; extra curricular activities, sports, families, jobs, friends, etc.

Several students are not against attending school to learn potentially useful information, however those positive thoughts are immediately dragged down when they are handed handfuls of homework.

Most, if not, all homework given out is checked for completion, not accuracy. Students take this opportunity to write random, unrelated things on homework therefore making the information the homework is supposed to teach completely useless. Students do this because they have other things to spend their time on that are more enjoyable or more important. Students don’t want to spend the prime moments of their life boring over a pile of homework.

If this petition is recognized, it will give a chance for students to enjoy more parts of their childhood before going into adulthood.
