While I understand that 72% of Santa Rosa County citizens voted for President Donald J. Trump's 2020 reelection, I ask that you please consider the 28% who did not; as well as those in neighboring counties and the multitude of tourists who choose our beaches as their vacation destination. I fully appreciate that it is very difficult, if not impossible, to agree on a new name for the causeway that would appeal to all. I implore you to choose a name that is less controversial and divisive. Our military is the heart of our community and I would like to suggest renaming the causeway after our fallen heroes. Please consider a name that would honor those who gave their lives to protect our freedom and safety, allowing us to continue enjoying our beautiful beaches.
